Privacy Policy

1. Overview

Agoda Hunter values privacy. This policy explains what information the service handles and how it is used.

2. Information We Collect

The comparison flow does not require account, email, contact, or payment information.

Selected CIDs, the Agoda URL, preferences, and recent searches are handled in this browser storage for product behavior.

3. Browser Extension

The Agoda Hunter Chrome extension uses browser permissions only to support the comparison workflow:

  • activeTab: reads price information from the currently opened Agoda tab.
  • storage: stores local extension settings.
  • tabs: opens and manages tabs needed for price comparison.
  • cookies: checks Agoda cookie names and session state while checking selected paths.

Extension settings, search-throttle logs, and comparison history and results are stored locally in browser extension storage.

Search-throttle logs include timestamps and completed CID counts; when a new qualifying search is logged, log entries older than 7 days are removed.

Comparison history may include the stored Agoda URL, hotel name, check-in and stay length, compared CID count and creation time, plus the lowest result’s CID, total and nightly price, currency, and generated Agoda URL. The extension currently keeps a maximum of 50 history items.

The cookies permission is used to inspect Agoda cookie names and session state, not to read payment or card details.

When a user runs a Booking.com or Naver provider check, the extension uses host access to extract quote information from the open provider page, including hotel and stay details, availability, price, currency, and tax evidence.

4. Production Analytics, Maps, and Advertising

The production website uses providers according to the following activation states and processing scopes.

  • Google Analytics: the external Google tag is disabled by default and loads only in builds where an authorized operator has confirmed that browser-history-based page changes are disabled for the data stream. When enabled, it may process user counts, session statistics, approximate geolocation, browser and device information, and analytics cookies.
  • Google AdSense: the production site does not load the external AdSense script or production ad units. Development ad placeholders do not send requests to Google AdSense.
  • Cloudflare Web Analytics: active in production, it processes page and performance metrics and sends Web Analytics beacon data to a Cloudflare endpoint.
  • Google Maps/Places: when map integration is configured, the hotel name and city are sent to Google for location lookup.

Cloudflare Web Analytics is active in production. Google Analytics is used only in builds that meet the condition above, Google Maps/Places is used only when map integration is configured, and Google AdSense is disabled.

5. Third-Party Services

Agoda Hunter compares publicly available Agoda.com booking information. It is an independent service and is not affiliated with Agoda.

Data processing by Google and Cloudflare services activated under the conditions above is governed by each provider's policies together with the user's browser, cookie, and consent settings.

This policy may change as the service improves. Important changes will be posted on this page.
